Christoph Illing is an multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Berlin, Germany.

He was guest-artist at the ZKM | Institute of Music and Acoustics in April 2014 and presented his most recent projects as part of the IMA | lab Series. He is currently member of the scientific committee of the xCoAx conference for media art and aesthetics.

He received his MA in Sound Studies/Klanggestaltung at Universität der Künste Berlin under the guidance of Holger Schulze, Martin Supper, Karl Bartos and Carl-Frank Westermann. While at the UdK he developed notations which are published in "Notations 21" and "The Dark Would" e.g.

Together with Lisa-Seidel-Kukuk and her piece "Sensibles Chaos" he won the award for the best scenic and technical concept and realisation at the International Theater Festival 2011 in Erbil/Irak. Currently he works in collaboration with Titus von der Malsburg on various realisations of their project "Brain Decomposition".
